Salmon and Carrots En Papillote

I love the recipes from Everyday Food, they are quick, healthy, delicious and very easy to prepare. I particularly love this salmon dish because it’s super healthy. Salmon is loaded with lots of Omega 3 which is very good for the heart. This dish requires no oil at all so it’s great for those people on diet. It’s basically a complete meal!

En Papillote is a French way of cooking in which you cook food in parchment. Sounds so “sosyal” no? Yes it is, but very simple to make. It’s a great way to surprise your friends and family. They’d think that you did a lot to prepare this food.

Martha Stewart’s Red Velvet Cupcake + the Best Frosting I’ve Ever Had

I always thought that it’s complicated to make red velvet cupcakes. When I first tasted one, it became my favorite but I thought to myself it will be very difficult to make one. Because of that, I’ve always delayed myself on learning how to make them. My sister wanted me to learn how to make these cupcakes because it’s one of our favorite flavors.

So I seek the help of the queen of all domestic divas, Martha Stewart. I found a  red velvet cupcake recipe on her website, however the frosting she used was the usual cream cheese frosting. I used vanilla cream frosting on mine, which according to Pioneer Woman, is the best frosting ever! And she is damn right! So far it’s the best for me, I think the flour made it better. Yes! This frosting has flour in it. Just try it, you’ll understand what I’m saying. The vanilla cream frosting recipe is originally from a Tasty kitchen member called MissyDew.

Martha Stewart’s Red Velvet Cupcake + the Best Frosting I’ve Ever Had = Heaven! It’s the best red velvet cupcake I have ever tasted!

Bread Pudding

I really was not intending to make this but because my first doughnut recipe failed so I had to find a way to make use “doughnuts” so it won’t go to waste. Bread pudding is something my mom used to make when we were kids, she uses old pandesal for bread pudding. We didn’t have oven then so she uses a steamer to bake it and the results are the same as when you use an oven.

Yes, you use old bread for this pero hindi naman ung inaamag na noh! A week old bread is OK, yung mga tinapay na matigas na at hindi na masarap are perfect for bread pudding. It’s a great way so we don’t put leftover bread to waste because there are a lot of people who are not eating.

This recipe is adapted. I’m a Google baker OK! You will find the original recipe here.

Moist Mocha Cupcake with Mocha Frosting

Rest days are my days when I usually bake. I never thought baking could be so easy. The internet is a very important tool for me because most of the recipes I use are on the internet. I just tweak them a bit so I could make it my own. So yesterday, I made cupcakes, mocha cupcakes specifically. Mocha is one of my favorite flavors for cakes. The secret to making a moist cupcake is to use vegetable oil partly. I learned that on a show in the Lifestyle Network. The original recipe of this cupcake can be found here.
