Bon Chon comes up to Baguio

I’ve been wanting to try the newly opened Bon Chon. I think everybody knows that Bon Chon is now in Baguio City. It’s one of the most popular Korean Fried Chicken restaurants in Asia. My husband loves Korean food so he said yes right away when I told him I want to try eating there.

Mrs. Fields

Mrs. Fields is known for their chewy and yummy cookies and now they teamed up with Selecta to make the best ice cream flavor I have ever tasted. Introducing Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookie ice cream.

It’s luscious vanilla ice cream with chunks of Mrs. Fields’ chocolate chip cookies. It’s heaven in every bite. I love that in every spoon of ice cream I put in my mouth I can taste the chewiness of the cookie. Each scoop of ice cream has a very generous amount of cookie chunks.

It only costs P145 for an 800 ml tub.

Everybody’s talking about Bread Talk

I saw this place for the first time and wondered what are these people falling in line for? There are even no breads on display. Last Saturday I tried to find out the answer. I found out that their breads of are high quality, they are soft and freshly baked. It’s like a new batch of breads comes out every 30 minutes and sometimes the pans of bread does not reach the display. Their customers grab them before they can reach the display. That’s how good their bread is.

The prices of their breads are much higher than our local bakeries but like everybody says, you get what you pay for. Just go find out for yourself so you’ll understand what I’m saying but prepare yourself to stand in the long line OK?

Sabi nga ni Vic, tinalo pa daw nila ang pila sa J. Co. Haha!

A girly date with @oiceybelle

I never want to experience that holiday rush again, ever! I’ve experienced that last year, I mean in 2011, and it was a nightmare! So I suggested that we do our grocery shopping on the 30th but before that she wanted to eat, so we went to Cottage Gi’s because we want to have dessert but when I checked the menu I didn’t like their sweets. They used to have nice slices of cakes, I don’t know what happened. I guess they just became a place for drinking. Anyway, we had pizza and Shirley Temples which weren’t bad. The pizza had a lot of cheese and I missed sipping my favorite Shirley Temple.

Sweeter the Second Time Around

Clyde said he would never eat at Sbarro, so the last time we went out he insisted on eating at Kangaroo Jack. I gave in, the food there wasn’t bad, and I also like the rustic, Australian outback ambiance of the place. Our lunch was lovely, we were so full because the servings are huge and not to mention it tasted good.

While they were preparing their eat-all-you-can buffet, and by the way people fall in line for that buffet, one of their waiters asked us to transfer tables. I said we we are about to leave so it’s ok, but the waiter said no and said we are still going to have dessert. I was confused, we didn’t order dessert. He said it was in the house, a treat from our friend Denver and when we looked at the counter we saw our church mate Denver!

We didn’t know he was working there. We said our hi’s and thank you’s and moved to another table which has a reserved sign on it. I felt like we were VIPs. And finally, they served the dessert. It was a huge serving of banana split! It was delicious especially that it was free hehe. Like people say the best things in life are free!

We were so thankful and happy at the same time. We went home with happy tummies, including the little boy who loved his ketchup and fries. It was a very sweet surprise.

Na-highblood dahil sa spaghetti

I was so excited to eat at Sbarro when I first found out that they have re-opened a branch in SM Baguio. Our family love Italian food and Sbarro’s concept of Italian eatery is very appealing to me. They serve food fresh without the waiting. Well there was some waiting because they’re servers are super slow.

Anyway, my husband hated their spaghetti. he was seriously mad at me because the spaghetti was so bland. Practically tasteless, no seasoning or whatsoever. It’s tomato and water and that’s it. He hated it but Uno liked it because he’s a kid and he likes tasteless food. On the other hand I love their deep dish pizza. I ordered Chicago White which on the contrary is full of flavor. Now I know next time when we eat there we will order anything except for their spaghetti.

On the positive note, we love their huge servings. Their pizza slices are super huge and good thing about their pasta dishes is there are half orders for people who don’t have big appetites. We would definitely come back for their other dishes!

Tea-rrific Bonding with Uno!

I was on leave for three days last week for our wedding anniversary. After going to our company pharmacy to get some medicine because I got a bit sick (my allergic rhinitis was in full force!), Uno and I  went to the mall for some bonding. Here is a series of photos to tell the story of what we did last Wednesday.

This is after we ate at Jollibee. Uno wanted to a picture with the Jollibee statue.

Post-anniversary lunch at Kangaroo Jack

I’ve been eyeing on this restaurant for weeks now, so 2 days after our anniversary was the perfect opportunity. We weren’t able to celebrate on the day of anniversary because my husband had to work and we weren’t able to go out the next day because my husband did something stupid (long story!)

Anyway, we had a great experience at Kangaroo Jack. The food was awesome and the ambiance is very Australian outback. Clyde can’t stop talking about how good their vegetables were. He still talked about it 24 hours after we ate. He even said “sarap talaga nung gulay sa Kangaroo Jack, di ko makalimutan.” I think that’s proof enough! My husband is very picky on where we eat. He does not mind paying as long as the food is good and the servings are huge.

Lunch at Mann Hann and More!

Chinese food has been in the lives of Filipino people. From siopao to siomai, not to mention pansit which will always be a favorite for most of us. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants around but I think Mann Hann’s food is one of the most authentic.

Last Sunday, (as we usually do when my sister is here) we had a family bonding, we actually love to eat (obvious naman sa akin diba?haha!). We are tired of the usual fast food so we decided to eat at Mann Hann. They have great interiors but it was a great day to eat outside the restaurant while seeing a great view.

Crazy for J. Co

That is the long line going to J. Co Donuts and Coffee at MOA. Ganyan kabaliw ang mga tao sa donuts na yan? Why? What’s the buzz about these donuts?

You all know I live in the mountains but good thing I have a sister who works in Manila who keeps me updated of the latest stuff in the Metro especially on food. She has been telling me about these donuts, how good they are and she even compared it to Krispy Kreme. She said it’s not very sweet unlike Krispy Kreme’s, (I still love their Honey Glazed ok.)
