Chic mom: Linda Ignacio

Top: Bayo, Flats: Celine (Those shoes are mine, she just borrowed it hehe!)
I think it’s time to feature my mom. When she was younger she was very stylish. She’s one of the people that can pull off red lipstick. I got from her the gene that makes us look younger than our age. She’s actually 60 years old but a lot of people say that she doesn’t look 60.
She’s one of the strongest people I know. Our mom is the person who fought to keep our family together. We’ve been through storms that no one can imagine we’ll go through. She can be a bit talkative and tactless sometimes but that’s how she is and will always be.
People would say that a child may leave her parents but moms would never desert a child no matter what. Moms are very compassionate. As what our pastor said yesterday in his sermon, mothers take things slowly, they take time to think and pray for their child.
Kahit palagi ko sya inaaway, I know my mom would always love me. And I might not say it that much I do love her and she’s one of the most important woman in my life.
Chic Mom: Golden Alangdeo
This is another episode of my Chic Mom entries. This time I’m featuring a colleague and a friend Golden Villaralvo-Alangdeo.
She’s one of the people I know that has a great sense of style. And I know she loves blazers. I always notice she wears a lot of those and she said that they are thrifted or ukay. She’s indeed good in finding fashion steals. She does know that a blazer is a staple in every wardrobe that’s why she has several of those. A blazer dresses up any simple outfit.
I consider her a confidante because she got married first. Her experience on being a parent and having a family is far greater than mine. We always talk about family, our kids and of course fashion. She and her husband, Jeff has one beautiful 3 year old that they nick named Jam Jam. I wonder where did that baby come from. I guess she has more “thin genes” than other women haha!
That day she was wearing a black sheer collared button down shirt paired with skinny black pants and her fashion forward blazer. I define her all black ensemble chic and classy, and her grey blazer made her look more stylish.

I love her sheer button down.

I lover her cuff bracelet. Very chic!

The bow detail in her shoes gives a simple black flats some character.
Lastly, a simple surprise to you Golden. I messaged your husband in Facebook to give a short message that I can add to this entry and this is what he said.
“She’s my brand of Heroin”… What I love most about her? Everything since she’s a total package…”
So sweet! I hope you’re surprised and that this entry justified your style.
Michelle Williams.
Chic and classy. That’s how I define her look. And the best thing about her is her pixie cut. One of my inspirations to keep my hair short.
17 Habits of Very Happy Moms
1. Ask for help
Happy mothers are not afraid to ask for help from family and friends. While morose, martyred moms miss those out-of-town weekends and movie nights with their husband because they can’t find a babysitter or a willing relative, Very Happy Moms just say, “Please.”
2. Leave the house — now
Have you been outside today? Fresh air, sunlight, and nature are believed to be critical mood enhancers for women, and moms can get this little lift while pushing strollers or swings. Look around that playground. Who looks happy? Go talk to her, right now.
3. Plan some big fun
In my research, I’ve found that VHMs work really hard to find time and money for vacations. Take away the alarm clocks, the homework, the deadlines…bring on the sunsets, the sand castles, the card games. Suddenly you remember why you spend so much time doing these people’s laundry.
4. Get your groove on
You call him “honey,” and he calls you “sugar” — but are you giving each other enough sweetness? Happy moms like getting busy. It’ll put a smile on your face. And it’s nice to have a Very Happy Husband hanging around.
5. Eat, sleep, and be merry
Being sleep-deprived may be a badge of honor for those with young babies, but the sooner you can figure out how to get your eight hours back, the more delirious with joy you will be. Follow that well-deserved rest with a bowl of oatmeal and a banana instead of three cups of coffee and the remains of somebody’s Pop-Tart, and see what happens.
6. Have a six-pack
I thought the main habit of Very Happy Moms might be popping Prozac, but I asked around and not a single happy mother mentioned drugs. Not even margaritas. Sigh. What they did mention, in droves, was exercise. And of course they’re right: Just about equal to how good regular exercise makes us feel is how insidiously the gloom creeps in when we weasel out of it. Fortunately, to a mom, exercise can feel almost self-indulgent — after all, you’re doing something for yourself, in the company of other grown-ups. And that’s part of the buzz.

Chic Mom: Jean Edades
Our trusty workforce. She’s our kakampi in the office. I knew her through my husband, my husband and her were team mates before.
I really have to say this in Filipino. Siya yung sumbungan ko kung meron nangugulang sa mga team mates. Kaya gustong gusto ko pag kashift ko sya. She makes sure that everyone does their job fairly. She’s just a ym away! And I love how frank she is. I may not be very close to her but feeling ko close kami…hehe!

I loved what she was wearing that day. It was actually our business casual day. She wore a striped polo shirt topped with a boyfriend cardigan. I love her cardigan and I’m a sucker for cardigans. She wore clothes well because she is tall.

My favorite part of her look is her shoes. Those flats are just so pretty!
I think our shoes we wear makes or breaks an outfit. You can wear a very simple outfit and wear a fashion forward shoes and it you’re good to go! The shoes would say a lot about a person’s personality.

Chic Mom: Gryll Cayat
I have seen a lot of moms, that after giving or after having 3 or 4 kids, would still look good like they are still single or in Filipino, dalaga pa. They never allow themselves to look bad. I always hear them say that they have to look good for themselves and for their husbands. These moms inspire me in many ways, they inspire me to dress up and to not allow the stress in marriage and being a parent take over in my life.
One of them is Ate Gryll. I have known her for 10 years, I think, and growing up I have known her as the fashionista. She has taken a lot risks, tried a lot of things. I know she may have insecurities but I’ve always seen her very confident. Her aura is very positive and she has been an ate to me and my sister and to all of younger group in our church. That was when I was younger and until now. We share stories about our kids and she sometimes give me parenting tips.
Last Sunday, her look was very chic. She was wearing this black knee length dress topped with a cream boyfriend cardigan.

She told me to edit the photos in photoshop, but I think there is no need. She already looks gorgeous.

My favorite part of this look is her rider boots. These boots makes her look very edgy. She said that her husband bought this for her. Sweet!

With her daughter Moulin.

Chic Mom: Kelanie Rafael
Would you believe she is in her early 30’s and she has 3 children? She’s one of the most fashionable moms I know. She’s a perfect example of a fashionista mom. I have never seen her look bad even in sweat pants and sneakers she still looks good.
What I admire about her is strength, she has been through a lot and she’s raising 3 kids on her own. With her hands full, being a working mom and a parent, you would never see that she has aged. She still looks the same like when she was 23.

She was wearing a printed loose blouse topped with a cropped cardigan. The cardigan gives shape to the loose blouse she is wearing. She paired it with a basic black pants, which is very classic. What I love about this look is her black pumps. It’s black but there’s a twist, it’s glittery. It gives a basic black shoe some personality. Her look is over all very feminine and chic.
