Cure: The Exfoliation Miracle

There a lot of ways to exfoliate, there’s the loofah, there’s the towel, and there’s “hilod.” Personally I like “hilod” because I can see the dead skin cells being removed. In case you don’t know what “hilod” is, “hilod” is when you rub a piece of smooth stone against your skin. It’s not for everyone because after doing this, my skin becomes red but it’s not painful. I just don’t know for others, there are people who have super sensitive skin and this may not be for them. There a re a lot of expensive treatment to remove the dead skin cells all over your body but who wants to spend all that money? Personally I don’t, especially for moms who would rather spend their money on more important things.

The Japanese is advanced when it comes to skin care and because of that they were able to develop a gentle way to remove dead skin cells. Now comes the birth of Cure. A lot of celebrities are swearing on this product, I don’t want to be left behind, so when Sampleroom.ph announced that they will give free samples of CURE, I ordered myself one. It is said to be gentle to use on any part of the body because it’s made mostly of water.

DOVE: You Are More Beautiful Than You Think

I wish I knew the people behind the marketing of Dove, I would like to give them a hug. I always love their commercials, they always promote women’s natural, beauty without make-up. I remember before that they had a commercial about young girls being under pressure on socially accepted beauty, it promoted self-esteem. You know young children are vulnerable about what other people tell them. Insecurity about one’s appearance starts at a very young age. I speak from experience because when I was a tween, I was very insecure and awkward. But as I grew older I learned that beauty is different in each individual, we should not be affected by the norm of beauty that the society shows.

So to tell you something about a commercial, Dove asked a forensic artist from FBI to make a sketch of different women. Each woman described to the artist how they look like and the artist draws it. This sketch is compared to another sketch, in which a person they just met described to the artist how they look like. Watch the video below so you can see what each woman’s reaction is.

Dove is all about self-esteem and self-worth. Dove wants to show people what real beauty is. So to young girls and women, we are more beautiful than we think!

Celeteque Make-up Remover Cleansing Facial Wipes

A new episode of my feeling beauty blogger posts!

This is the first time I’ve used cleansing wipes, if not for Sample Room, I will never try using one of these. I’ve always thought the best way to remove make-up is to use water and cleanser, but this changed the way I think about cleansing wipes. Cleansing wipes particularly this one is kinda good actually. It removes make-up really well. I only used one piece for my entire face and neck. I’m not sure how many will be used if you put heavy make-up because I always put on light make-up.

Ultra Moisture Rich Rose Lipstick by Avon

Another episode of feeling beauty blogger post today, ok?

My Mama and I knew a direct seller from Avon so when she decided to order an undergarment from her, I also checked the brochure and saw this new lipstick collection. Ang adik ko lang talaga sa lipstick at nagorder nanaman ako. I ordered two shades from the 8-shade collection. I bought Amour Rose and Carmen Rose. Avon Philippines is really good in choosing the shades that they sell because the shades that I chose are very flattering on the Filipina skin.

The packaging.

Lovely ME:EX BB Cream

Feeling beauty blogger naman ako ngayon. Hehe!

I’ve been searching for a good BB cream and I’m glad that The Face Shop opened in Baguio because they have one of the best BB creams in the market. I trust this store because aside from the good reviews, it’s a Korean brand. We all know that Koreans are so meticulous about their skin care.  So today I bought Lovely ME:EX BB cream (P350.)

I love that The Face Shop have different kinds of BB cream but I chose their cheapest. I just want to try it first because the last BB cream I used gave me a huge zit on the chin (that BB cream is not from The Face Shop.) What I really wanted to buy is the Aqua Tinted BB but it’s P995, so I skipped it. I think it’s a good BB cream because when I got home the part of my hand where I tried it feels very smooth. I would definitely buy that when I finish this up. (I’m really hoping to finish this!)

Pleasant surprises are the best!

It came in a red envelope.

The Face Shop is now in Baguio

(Source)

We finally have The Face Shop in SM Baguio! I visited their store last week just to look around and I love the ambiance of the place. I describe it as heavenly. And they’re staff gave an impression that they are willing to help you unlike the other store that has the word shop on their name as well, who gives the “mata pobre” look in their eyes when they see you come in to their store.

I saw a BB cream that gives that dewy look that I want which I’m thinking of buying the next pay day. And they have good make-up products too. I read good reviews about their lipsticks. I’d definitely check that the next time I visit them.

So happy that we now have a new place where we can buy skin care and beauty products. Our options in Baguio are growing!

Summer + SPF

Happy Easter everyone! Easter marks the start of spring in the States but here in the Philippines summer has started. I don’t know when but I know it’s summer because even if I live in Baguio, I can feel the summer heat. I’ve seen tweets and Facebook status updates from a lot of friends and celebrities in Manila that it’s super super hot there right now. I still feel blessed that I live here. It’s the one thing that’s difficult to leave behind. It’s hot but we still feel comfortable. We used to not have this kind of weather in Baguio, we usually have cool weather all year round but I guess it’s because of the global warming. Some of parts of the world still have snow when it’s supposed to be spring. A bit odd isn’t it?

So in relation to the summer heat, doctors and beauty experts always say that we need to lather on that SPF. I have a little boy so whenever we go out I put SPF on him because children’s skin are very sensitive. It’s best to start protecting their skin while they are young. And we adults should wear SPF as well, we need this more because SPF prevents wrinkles and unwanted spots from appearing on the skin. So here are the few products I use to protect my skin and family’s skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

Have you seen this? Oh yes! I want to be part of this.

I’m a newbie when it comes to beauty but ever since I learned to put on lipstick recently, I started to become interested on beauty products. I’m such a skin care junkie. I have a few blog entries on the products that was sent by Sample Room. I love to moisturize and the very first product I got from Sample Room is Laneige moisturizer, which unfortunately, magically disappeared from it’s jar because my son played with it. Super sayang!
