A Treat For My Feet

I’ve been wanting do this for a long time. And last Saturday I decided to do it. I’m talking about getting a foot spa. The callus on my feet are bothering me so much. It makes walking difficult. I miss having baby like feet, the last time my feet were baby like was when I was a teenager. Di kasi ako lakwatsera noon kaya ang lambot ng paa ko haha! 

I had to do something about it so I asked some friends where I can get a foot spa. We Do in Porta Vaga was mentioned to me so I decided to go there. Their foot spa rates are more affordable than in SM. I chose foot spa with paraffin which costs P300. 

The place is ok. It’s a bit small for me. But they do have a lot of customers, there was a few people waiting when I was done with my treatment. A lot of men and women go there to have facials and yes I said men. I wasn’t used to that, some men really go to spas for skin care. I wouldn’t want my husband to go to such places, maybe for a massage but not for a facial. I find it too vain, that’s just my opinion. Anyway, I would want to try other spas, maybe North Haven Spa or maybe one of the spas in SM.

Getting foot spa is a process so you have to have a lot of time. First, they soak you feet for about 10 minutes then they apply a red thing, using a cotton, at the bottom of the foot and then they scrub it especially the places where you have callus. It was embarrassing because my callus are so thick so the attendant has to get a different scrub. Feeling ko medyo nahirapan si Ate but my sister said it’s their job so it’s ok. Then they massage some salt scrub on your feet and legs to remove the dead skin cells. After all the scrubbing, they’ll massage your feet with oil, that massage was much needed. It felt so good having your foot and legs massaged. Then they dip your feet in some paraffin, the paraffin was a bit hot but I guess it had to be that hot to be therapeutic. After which your feet is wrapped with some cling film. After a few minutes the paraffin is removed then they put some baby powder and they rub your feet with towel to remove any excess products. And that’s it. I felt so good after, my feet felt so light and relaxed.  It’s not an easy job but somebody has to do it. I hope Ate gets paid well for what she does.

I would definitely do this again, maybe I would want to get a massage even. It’s a great alone time and relaxation for moms especially working moms. I’m glad I did it!
