I really was not intending to make this but because my first doughnut recipe failed so I had to find a way to make use “doughnuts” so it won’t go to waste. Bread pudding is something my mom used to make when we were kids, she uses old pandesal for bread pudding. We didn’t have oven then so she uses a steamer to bake it and the results are the same as when you use an oven.
Yes, you use old bread for this pero hindi naman ung inaamag na noh! A week old bread is OK, yung mga tinapay na matigas na at hindi na masarap are perfect for bread pudding. It’s a great way so we don’t put leftover bread to waste because there are a lot of people who are not eating.
This recipe is adapted. I’m a Google baker OK! You will find the original recipe here.
3-4 Cups Old Bread
3 Eggs, beaten
1 1/4 Cups Evaporated milk
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Cinnamon Powder
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In a baking dish put sugar, eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract, mix well.
3. Add bread in the milk mixture. Mix well, making sure that the bread are soaking in the mixture.
4. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
And voila! You now have your bread pudding, you’re family will surely love this!
